Posouzení únavové životnosti svarových spojů je velmi složitá disciplína vyžadující pečlivou analýzu. V praxi je k jejímu posouzení často nutné provádět nákladné testování velkého počtu vzorků. I když byly v poslední době provedeny určité pokroky v oblasti analytické predikce, výsledky stále nejsou dostatečně uspokojivé.
The assessment of the fatigue life of welded joints is a very complex discipline requiring careful analysis. In practice, expensive testing of large numbers of samples is often required to assess it. Although some recent advances have been made in analytical prediction, the results are still not satisfactory. This bachelor thesis deals with the assessment of fatigue life of welded joints using the finite element method (FEM). The first part of the thesis is devoted to a literature search, the introductory part of which gives a brief overview on the topics of welding and fatigue. Then, the paper describes in detail the different procedures to assess the fatigue life of welded joints. The second part is devoted to the development of a simple FEM model of the welded joint. The model is then used to estimate the fatigue life using the MSC Patran/Nastran program. Three approaches are tested, namely nominal, hotspot and notch stress. The final section compares the different approaches and a comparison between theoretical and experimentally observed data is also made.
