Tato práce se zabývá vztahem dětí a mládeže ke sportu a vlivu sportu na jejich psychický vývoj. Práce pojednává především o sportu rekreačním v souvislosti s jeho pedagogickými, socializačními, ale také ekonomickými možnostmi. Popisují se zde dějiny sportu od počátku lidstva do současnosti, kategorizace sportovních disciplín a jednotlivé psychické vývojové fáze člověka ve vztahu k pohybu. Dále jsou zde rozebírány kognitivní funkce, které se uplatňují ve sportu a úloha sportovních činností ve škole a zájmovém vzdělávání. Praktická část srovnává pomocí dotazníků postoje ke sportu u dětí a mládeže. Průzkum pomáhá pochopit, proč někteří jedinci sportují a jiní nikoliv. This work deals with the relationship of children and the young towards sport and how sport influences their psychic development. It discourses upon leisure sports and their pedagogical, social and also economical possibilities. This work offers an insight into history of sport activities since the dawn of humanity, categorisation of sport disciplines and individual phases of a human development on the subject of sport. Further on, it deals with cognitive functions concerning sport activities and also the importance of sport at schools and interested education. The practical part of this work is a survey comparing different views on sport as seen by chidren and the young. The survey helps to understand why some people do sports and some do not.
