Práce se zabývá fenoménem konverze dospělých ke křesťanství. Definuje pojem obrácení a zabývá se jím v pohledu několika disciplín. První část je věnována obrácení v Písmu svatém a na několika příkladech Starého i Nového zákona objevuje zákonitosti opravdové a trvalé konverze. Druhá část navazuje na Písmo svaté několika příklady obrácení v dějinách církve.Třetí část je věnována konverzi z pohledu současné (především)morální teologie a čtvrtá z pohledu psychologie. Charakterizuje obrácení jako náročný proces celoživotní proměny ve smyslu pokání, akt vůle a osobního rozhodnutí neodlučitelně spjatý s Boží milostí.Poukazuje na těžkosti a konflikty, kterými může být konvertita v tomto procesu zasažen, odhaluje jejich příčiny a zdůrazňuje, že jejich existence je k vytvoření zralé víry nezbytná. Podstatnou součástí práce je dvanáct kasuistik-příběhů konkrétních konvertitů, které prakticky dokreslují nastíněnou problematiku. This thesis is concerned with the phenomenon of adult conversion to Christianity. It defines the concept of conversion and deals with it in the perspektive of several disciplines.Its first part is devoted to several examples of conversion describet in the Scripture.The examples given in the Old and New Testament seem to become patterns of genuine and lasting conversion.The second part of the thesis follows the biblical examples of convincement in the history of the Church.The third part is devoted to conversion in the view of the current (first of all moral)theology, and the fourth part offers a view from the perspektive of psychology. The conversion is characterised as a lifelong process of intensive changes in the meaning of repentance,an act of will and personal choice inextricably linked with God´s grace.The work shows the difficulties and conflicts which can hit the convers during the proces;it reveals their causes and stresses the necessity of a truly mature faith. The essential part of the work contents twelve case reports-specific stories of converts,which effectively illustrate the issues outlined.
