Literární rešerše, tvořící část diplomové práce, obsahuje přehled nejrozšířenějších způsobů výživy domácích zvířat. Zahrnuje také přehled gastrointestinálních parazitů u psů, koček, ježků a fretek, způsoby jejich diagnostiky a terapii. V rámci praktické části byly v letech 2021-2023 shromažďovány a následně koprologicky vyšetřeny vzorky exkrementů domácích zvířat. Během těchto let byly shromažďovány i dotazníky vyplněné majiteli zvířat. Dotazník zahrnoval otázky na metody krmení zvířete, způsob používané prevence proti infekci gastrointestinálními parazity, nákazy zvířete parazity a popřípadě použitou terapii, a dále dotazy, které byly zaměřeny na povědomí majitelů o řešené problematice. Hodnocena byla mimo jiné četnost infikovaných zvířat v závislosti na typu krmení, způsoby použité prevence při jednotlivých typech krmení, výskyt endoparazitů v závislosti na použité prevenci, jaký způsob prevence je dle respondentů účinnější a zda je podle nich možné nakazit se gastrointestinálními parazity od infikovaného zvířete. Přítomnost infekce gastrointestinálními parazity je u jednotlivých kategorií krmiv bez výrazných rozdílů. Neprokázala jsem, že zvířata krmená syrovou stravou byla jednoznačně infikována parazity z potravy. Práce dokazuje, že i zvířata krmená tepelně upravenou stravou, která není zdrojem infekce, jsou parazity často napadena. Nákaza z okolního prostředí bývá zdrojem infekce častěji než krmení syrovou stravou. The literature review, which is the part of the diploma thesis, contains a summary of the most widespread methods of pet food. It also contains a summary of gastrointestinal parasites in dogs, cats, hedgehogs and ferrets, and the methods of their diagnostics and therapy. The practical part of my thesis focused on collecting samples of pet excrements in the course of 2021 2023, which were then examined fot the presence of parasites using the standard coprological flotation method. In the course of the above-mentioned years, the questionnares were also provided to the pets owners, which the pet owners filled out. The questionnaire contained questions about the methods of pet food, methods of prevention used against gastrointestinal parasites, possible infection of pets with gastrointestinal parasites and the therapy used, and questions about the knowledge of this issue among pet owners. The number of infections of pets based on methods of pet food, methods of prevention used with individual methods of pet food, occurrence of the endoparasites with the prevention used, the opinion on the effectiveness of the prevention method and the opinion on the possibility to get infected from the infected pet were evaluated as well. The presence of infection with gastrointestinal parasites did not differ in individual categories of pet food. I did not prove that pets fed raw food were infected with parasites from this food. The thesis proves that pet fed heat-treated food, which is not a source of infection, are often infected with parasites. Infection from environment is a source of infection more often than feeding raw food.
