Práce se zabývá tématem Veřejné prostory Starého Brna. K tématu byly prostudovány potřebné prameny. V teoretické části byl definován pojem veřejný prostor a zpracován přehled vývoje území Starého Brna od jeho vzniku po současnost. V praktické části práce byly zpracovány analýzy území Starého Brna. Na základě analýz byly zpracovány mapy zobrazující současné rozložení a charakter veřejných prostor Starého Brna ve vztahu k minulosti. Analýzy Starého Brna vedly k stanovení charakteru území, genia loci a problémů v území, které byly dále řešeny v návrhu citlivě tak, aby byl respektován genius loci místa. Městská čtvrť Staré Brno byla řešena do fáze ideového konceptu, ulice Křídlovická do fáze konceptu a dva prostory na ulici Křídlovické do fáze studie - prostor okolo DRFG Aréna a dopravní náměstí Křídlovická/Václavská/Křížová. Závěrem jsou formulována inspirativní východiska pro navrhování veřejných prostorů městské části Starého Brna. This paper is mainly focused on the topic of Public spaces of Old Brno. the topic was studied thru needful source of information. In the theoretical part we define the term "public space" and also describe the evolution of area of Old Brno of its origin to present times. In the practical part we elaborate various analysis of the Old Brno area. Based on the analyses we create maps portraying layout and character of public spaces of Old Brno related to its past. Analyses of Old Brno lead to defining of character of the area, genius loci and problems in the area, which are resolved carefully so that genius loci of the area is respected. The district of Old Brno is thought out to the phase of ideological concept, Kridlovicka street to teh phase of concept and two areas of Kridlovica stree to the phase of a study: area around DRFG Arena and traffic square of Kridlovicka/Vaclavska/Krizova. In the result we define an inspirational basis for designing public spaces in the district Old Brno.
