Abstract: The aim of the thesis is to study possibilities and ways of cultivation in hydroponic production in the greenhouse environment, using on typical hydroponics substrates such as rockwool, keramzit or coconut fiber. The objective is to process at least 5 types of plant genotypes typically used in Asia as vegetables. Vegetables have been selected according to a number of criteria such as the rich content of healthy substances, free of pests and diseases, fast and manageable cultivation. The work was focused on botanical and morphological characteristics, agrotechnical claims, capabilities of covered production, as well as the use and content of substances. The goal was to establish an experiment with 5 types of plant genotypes in 4 replicates, which evaluated the development of cultures and selected content (vitamin C, antioxidant capacity, carotenoids, flavonoids, phenols, minerals, etc.) in a greenhouse. The work was focused on growing 20 of Asian vegetable. The whole process of cultivation was focused on ebb and flow hydroponic system using rockwool cubes. Among the targetted species were: Ipomoea aquatica, Brassica juncea var. japonica, Persicaria odorata, Cryptotaenia japonica, Cymbopogon citratus – depending on the possibilities of obtaining adequate propagation material and suitability for a hydroponic system. The data were statistically processed, resulting in recommendations for cultivation. The chosen plants can be cultivated in hydroponic system successfully. Some of the plants showed promising results in the content of substances In conclusion, all tested genotypes of Asian vegetables are suitable for expanding the staple diet.
