Kvalitu života lidí ovlivňují a posunují technické vynálezy. 19. století je v tomto ohledu významným mezníkem. Probíhající průmyslová revoluce dala vzniknout i šicímu stroji, který pomohl změnit nejen způsob práce, ale i lidské postoje a myšlení. Šicí stroj umožnil namáhavou a časově náročnou práci - ruční zhotovování oděvů i dalších výrobků - významně ulehčit. Ve své práci se chci zaměřit na vývoj šicího stroje, ale především na jeho pronikání do českých zemí, propagaci, vliv na ženskou otázku a dobovou reflexi. Klíčová slova: šicí stroj, vynález, ruční práce, propagace, výstava, žena : Quality of life influence and push technical inventions. 19th century is really significant turning point for that. Ongoing industrial revolution brought a sewing machine into being which helped to change not only method of working but human thinking and stands too. For most of human history, clothing has been handmade, with the help of thread and needle only. The sewing machine enabled to make this exacting work more easier. This bachelor thesis deals with sewing machine's developmennt, its spreading into czech lands, promotion, influence on woman question and reflexion.
