cze Abstract:
This bachelor thesis focuses on current research in the field of Mind-Body Therapy in relation to supporting the management of chronic pain and comorbid depression. Mind- body therapy is supported by extensive research and according to recent studies is effective in supporting the management of comorbid depression in patients with chronic pain. The literature review section focuses on the definition of chronic pain and depression. It also introduces the various Mind-body therapies and their effectiveness for this type of illness and critically evaluates them. The research proposal focuses on Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) in the context of reducing pain intensity, intensity of depressive symptoms and the impact of pain symptoms on daily activities of patients with chronic pain and comorbid depression. The research could provide new insights into the association between chronic pain and comorbid depression. Thus, this clinical trial could be beneficial for the expansion of available interventions in the Czech Republic.
