Diplomová práce "Duchovní doprovázení ve službě nemocničního kaplana" popisuje a hodnotí, v čem spočívá jedinečnost, smysl a náročnost služby duchovního doprovázení nemocničního kaplana. Jaké jsou jeho limity a čím se liší od tradičně pojímaného duchovního doprovázení v rámci katolické komunity. Nejprve je proto vysvětlen pojem duchovního doprovázení, je nastíněn vztah k psychoterapii a jaký má význam pro nemocné. Dále je popsána služba nemocničního kaplana, jeho poslání a kompetence v rámci celostní péče o nemocné. Jsou zpracována biblická a teologická východiska v přístupu kaplana k nemocným lidem v postmoderní společnosti. Práce objasňuje, v čem spočívají specifika služby nemocničního kaplana, jaké jsou požadavky na duchovní doprovázení nemocničním kaplanem (ze strany nemocného, příbuzných, personálu, vedení nemocnice i církve). Současná kaplanská praxe v nemocnicích je prakticky naznačena ve dvou kazuistikách při doprovázení osob, hlásících se k jiným než křesťanským vyznáním. What its limits are and how it is different from the traditional understanding of spiritual accompaniment in the catholic community. Firstly hence is explained the term of spiritual accompaniment, ties with the psychotherapy are outlined and its value for patients. Then the work of a hospital chaplain is described, its mission and competence in the framework of the holistic approach towards hospitalized patients. Biblical and theological starting points that deal with patients in postmodern society are processed. Thesis clarifies specifics of work of a hospital chaplain, what demands are expected from hospital chaplains (from the patients, family, personnel, management of hospital and the church). Current chaplaincy practice in the hospitals is indicated in two case studies in the accompaniment of people who profess to religion other than Christianity.
