Onkologická onemocnění jsou jedním z nejzávažnějších celosvětových zdravotních problémů. Zhoubným nádorem onemocní v průběhu života každý třetí občan České republiky. Jednou z hlavních metod léčby onkologického onemocnění je radioterapie. K léčbě se využívá ionizující záření, které však s sebou nese také řadu nežádoucích vedlejších účinků. V praktické části jsem se zaměřila zejména na informovanost pacientů o nežádoucích účincích léčby. Pro získání informací jsem zpracovala dotazník, na jehož vyplňování se podílelo 250 pacientů z celé České republiky. Výzkum byl anonymní pro pacienty i pro nemocnice, ve kterých byl průzkum proveden. Ve výsledcích většina pacientů uvedla, že obdržené informace jsou dostatečné. Přesto však 57 % z dotázaných pacientů dodává, že by uvítali více informací i z ostatních zdrojů, především pak z letáků a internetu. Neméně podstatnou součástí této práce se tedy stal leták pro pacienty, který informuje o radioterapii jako takové a především pak o vedlejších účincích a možnostech léčby. Oncology diseases belong to one of the most serious worldwide health problems. Each third citizen of the Czech Republic has a malign tumour in the course of life. One of the main methods of oncology disease treatment is radiotherapy. Ionizing radiation is used for the treatment but it also brings some undesirable side effects. In the practical part I focused especially on patients´ awareness of undesirable side effects of the treatment. To gain information I elaborated a questionnaire, which was filled in by 250 patients from the whole Czech Republic. The research was anonymous for both patients and hospitals, where the research was carried out. The most of patients say that the gained information is sufficient. However, 57 per cent of patients add that they would appreciate more information from other resources, especially leaflets and the Internet. The other important part of the thesis is a leaflet which informs on radiotherapy itself and on side effects and possibilities of treatment.
