[cze][eng] Tato diplomová práce se zabývá tím, jaký mediální obraz média o seniorech vytváří, a jak tento mediální obraz poté vnímají ostatní věkové kategorie. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, jak hodnotí obyvatelé města Čáslavi mediální obraz seniorů ve společnosti. V teoretické části práce se zaměřuji na vysvětlení pojmů stárnutí a stáří. Jelikož se tato práce zabývá seniory, pokládám za důležité vysvětlení základního pojmu senior, a k tomu přidávám vědy, které se zabývají procesem stárnutí a stáří, tedy gerontologie a geriatrie. Dále také zmiňuji stereotypy a mýty spojené se stářím. V další části teoretické práce se věnuji vysvětlení pojmů mediální obraz, masová média, jejich dělení a funkce. Dále jsem se také zaměřila na popis současného obrazu stáří ve společnosti, a také na působení médií na veřejnost. V poslední části teoretické práce jsem popisovala témata týkající se seniorů a politiky stárnutí. Dále popisuji aktivní stárnutí populace, strategické dokumenty a akční plány, které se vztahují ke stárnutí. K dosažení cíle práce byla použita kvantitativní výzkumná strategie, kdy metoda sběru dat byla provedena dotazováním na základě vlastního dotazníku. Výzkumný soubor tvořili obyvatelé města Čáslavi, ve věkovém rozmezí od 18 do 64 let. Celkem jsem získala dotazníky od 273 respondentů. Získaná data byla zpracována pomocí popisné statistiky v programu MS Excel, následné vyhodnocení hypotéz proběhlo v programu SPSS, kde byl použit Chí-kvadrát test neboli test dobré shody a dále pomocí četností. Domnívám se, že tento výzkum by mohl otevřít další možnosti diskuze o vyobrazování reálného obrazu seniorů laické i odborné veřejnosti. Získané výsledky by mohly rozpoutat společenskou debatu zaměřenou na etické aspekty současného moderního způsobu, kterým média informují o tématech týkajících se seniorů. Dále by práce mohla pomoci poodkrýt případné nové způsoby stereotypizace a popsat, zda média předsudky o početné a stále vzrůstající skupině seniorů podporují, či nikoliv. This diploma thesis deals with how old people are presented in the media, and how this media image is then perceived by other age groups. The aim of the work was to find out how the inhabitants of the town of Čáslav evaluate the media image of seniors in society. In the theoretical part of the work I focus on explaining the concepts of aging and old age. Since this work deals with seniors, I consider it an important explanation of the basic concept of senior, and I add to this the sciences that deal with the process of aging and old age, here gerontology and geriatrics. I also mention stereotypes and myths associated with old age. In the next part of the theoretical work, I explain the concepts of media image, mass media, their division and function. I also focused on the description of the current picture of old age in society, as well as on the impact of the media on the public. In the last part of the theoretical work, I described topics related to seniors and the policy of aging. I also describe the active aging of the population and the strategic documents and action plans that relate to aging. To achieve the goal of the work, a quantitative research strategy was used, where the method of data collection was performed by questioning on the basis of their own questionnaire. The research group consisted of residents of the town of Čáslav, in the age range from 18 to 64 years. In total, I received questionnaires from 273 respondents. The obtained data were processed using descriptive statistics in MS Excel, the subsequent evaluation of hypotheses took place in SPSS, where the Chi-square test or goodness-of-fit test was used, and also using frequencies. I believe that this research could open up further opportunities for discussion about depicting the real image of seniors to the lay and professional public. The obtained results could trigger a social debate focused on the ethical aspects of the current modern way in which the media inform about topics related to seniors. Furthermore, the work could help uncover possible new ways of stereotyping and describe whether or not the media support prejudices about a large and growing group of seniors.
