Diplomová práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a část výzkumnou. V teoretické části jsou obsaženy základní poznatky o lexikologii. Práce je zaměřena na obecnou charakteristiku lexikologie - její historii, základní lexikologické přístupy a rozdělení. Podrobně je zpracována oblast slovní zásoby českého jazyka, zejména vrstva slovní zásoby vymezená časovou platností. Pozornost je věnována také kurikulárním dokumentům, ve kterých je učivo o slovní zásobě zakotveno. Výzkumná část je zaměřena na dotazníkové šetření, které v prvé řadě mapuje znalost pojmů a porozumění slovům archaickým a historickým žáky 2. stupně základní školy. V řadě druhé zachycuje, v jaké míře je věnována pozornost učivu o archaismech a historismech ve výuce českého jazyka a literatury. The diploma thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the basic findings of lexicology. The thesis focuses on the general characteristics of lexicology - its history, general lexicological approaches, and its division. The idea of Czech vocabulary is elaborated in detail with the emphasis on vocabulary limited by time validity. It also focuses on curricular documents where vocabulary learning is embedded. The practical part is concerned with questionnaire survey, which first maps out the knowledge of concepts and understanding of archaic and historical words by pupils of middle school. It also points out how much attention is paid to teaching about archaism and historicism in the lessons of Czech language and literature.
