Práce pojednává o historii skautingu ve světě a v českých zemích od počátku do současnosti, konkrétně je zaměřena na historii skautingu v jižních Čechách. Především se zaměřuje na vývoj skautského hnutí v jednotlivých skautských oddílech Jihočeského kraje a na průběh jejich činnosti od počátků až do padesátých let. Vývoj skautingu ve zvolené oblasti je řazen do dílčích etap podle významných milníků historického vývoje naší země. Práce se věnuje všem významným okolnostem souvisejícím se vznikem vývoje skautingu. V prvních dvou kapitolách je popsána historie světového a českého skautingu, chronologicky podle jednotlivých časových období. Druhé dvě kapitoly, které jsou stěžejní pro tuto práci, se zaměřují na vývoj a historii skautingu v jižních Čechách a v jednotlivých okresních městech této oblasti. Zde práce popisuje dvě zásadní období skautského vývoje. První období mapuje počátek skautingu v jižních Čechách a ve městech od počátku vzniku. Zaměřuje se na dvacátá a třicátá léta. Druhé období mapuje poválečná léta až k datu druhého zákazu skautingu. Zde se práce zaměřuje na poválečnou dobu v letech 1945 až 1950. Nejstarší informace byly čerpány z dochovaných archivních materiálů a kronik jednotlivých skautských oddílů. Zdrojem informací se rovněž stala dobová periodika a novinové články. Rovněž bylo čerpáno z almanachů zpracovaných skautskými pamětníky. Novější data se opírala o současnou literaturu, která zpracovala historii skautingu. The thesis deals with the history of scouting in the world and in the Czech countries, from the beginning until nowadays, specifically it focuses on the history of scouting in southern Bohemia. It primarily focuses on the development of the scout movement in individual scout troops of the South Bohemian region and on the process of their activities from the beginning until the 1950 s. The development of scouting in the selected area is divided into partial phases according to important milestones in the historical development of our country. The thesis deals with all important circumstances related to the birth of development of scouting. The first two chapters describe the history of world and czech scouting, chronologically according to individual time periods. The second two chapters, which are crucial for this thesis, focus on the development and history of scouting in southern Bohemia and in individual regions of this area. In this part the thesis describes two crucial periods of scout development. The first period maps the beginning of scouting in southern Bohemia and in cities from the beginning. It focuses on the 1920 s and 1930 s. The second period maps the post-war years until the date of the end of scouting. In this part thesis focuses on the post-war period from 1945 to 1950. The oldest informations were derived from the preserved archival materials and chronicles of individual scout troops. Periodicals and newspaper articles also became a source of informations. It was also derived from almanacs created by scout witnesses. Recent data were based on current literature that processed the history of scouting.
