Práce se zabývá vznikem pojmu duše a jeho ukotvení v křesťanství, kde poukazuje na význam posmrtného přeživšího prvku, který je klíčový v eschatologickém očekávání. Odpovídá také na otázku, zda je "duše" církevním mechanismem k zajištění poslušnosti věřících, jak se často profánní společnost domnívá. Popisem eschatologických konceptů dvou křesťanských celků, z nichž každý přistupuje k problematice duše odlišně, poukazuje na následky, jež v absenci pojmu duše vrcholí velmi svérázným výkladem Písma. Závěrem poznatků práce ukazuje "duši" jako teologicky nutnou kategorii k zajištění soudržného křesťanského systému ve světle biblických výpovědí. The thesis deals with the emergence of the concept of soul and its anchoring in Christianity. In this context, the theisis indicates the importance of the posthumous surviving element, that is crucial in eschatological expectations. It answers the question of whether the "soul" is a church mechanism to ensure the obedience of believers, as profane society often believes. By describing the eschatological concepts of two Christian wholes, one of which treats the soul differently, the thesis reveals consequences that culminate in a very peculiar interpretation of Scripture. Finally, the thesis shows the "soul" as a theologically necessary category to ensure a cohesive Christian system in the light of biblical statements.
