V rámci této práce se seznámíme s problematikou klimatických změn a jejich výzkumu včetně různých současných výzkumných programů a institucí, které se výzkumem klimatických změn zabývají. Popíšeme základy výzkumné politiky Evropské unie, Šestý rámcový výzkumný program a taky opatření, kterými chce Evropská unie přispět ke zmírnění následků klimatických změn a ke snížení světových emisí CO2. Within the framework of this thesis, the problematics of climate change and its research is presented. Various contemporary research projects and institutions leading the research on climate change are included. We will characterize the Research Policy of the European Union, its Sixth Framework Research Programme and the measures of the EU aiming at mitigation of the climate change impacts and reduction of the global CO2 emissions.
