Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou používání příběhů ve výuce angličtiny na prvním stupni základních škol. Teoretická část práce je zaměřena na význam používání příběhů ve výuce cizího jazyka a metodiku práce s příběhy. Ve výzkumné části práce byly sestaveny dva dotazníky. První je určen učitelům angličtiny na prvním stupni základních škol a druhý dětem {--} jejich žákům. Cílem obou dotazníků bylo zjistit, jakou důležitost mají příběhy pro děti, jakou roli hrají ve výuce angličtiny a jak dětem napomáhají při její výuce. This thesis deals with using of storytelling in the primary English classroom. The first part of the thesis is focused on the importance of using stories in teaching English as a foreign language in the primary classroom and the methodology of using the stories. In the research part of the thesis two questionaries were made up. One was given to the primary English teachers and the other one to the children {--} their pupils. The aim of both questionaries was to find out how important for children the stories are, what is their role in teaching English and how they help the children learn it.
