This dissertation complexly studies a collection of metal objects that were unprofessionally found in the late 1930s whilst pillars of a bridge, that leads from the centre of Nitra to its suburbs, were being built, and by the modification of the nearby river banks. A part of the objects was saved by an office worker for Slovak power plant offices and in 1952 passed onto Bohuslav Novotný who confirmed most of the objects were dated back to the middle and to the second half of 16th century (the Osman wars age). The significant number of the objects are military items that could most likely serve in military actions which were well known for Nitra back then. The absence of the documentation and finding situations of the items found led to using analogies only in dating and determining the purpose of the items, which have since 1965, when the item collection was firstly published, increased, thus it can be crucial in identifying the more exact dating of the items. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org) Práca sa zameriava na komplexné zhodnotenie súboru kovových predmetov, ktoré boli neodborne objavené na konci 30. rokov 20. storočia pri stavbe nosných pilierov mosta z centra Nitry na jej predmestie a úpravou okolitých brehov. Časť predmetov bola zachránená vtedajším úradníkom Slovenských elektrární v Nitre a v roku 1952 odovzdaná Bohuslavovi Novotnému, ktorý nevylúčil, že prevažná väčšina predmetov je datovateľná do stredu a druhej polovice 16. storočia, a teda do obdobia osmanských vojen. Značnú časť súboru tvoria militárie a predmety, ktoré mohli byť súčasťou vojenských akcií. Tie boli v danom období mestu Nitra dobre známe. Absencia dokumentácie a nálezových okolností, okrem približného miesta nálezu, ponechala datovanie a určenie účelu predmetov na hľadaní analógií, ktorých počet od roku 1965, kedy bol súbor prvýkrát publikovaný, stúpol, a tým pádom môže byť datovanie o to presnejšie a kompletnejšie.
