The goal of this doctoral thesis is to find and implement possible ways to facilitate secondary school students' understanding of relativity. The thesis starts with an overview of existing literature as well as ongoingstudies concerned with teachingrelativityto secondarystudents, especially in connection with possible misconceptions and other learning difficulties. Furthermore, it maps available book and internet sources on relativity in both Czech and English that students might use outside of school. A research of Czech curricular documents for upper secondaryeducationandan online surveyamonggymnasium physics teachers were used to assess the current situation of teaching relativity in these schools. Based on the mentioned research, it was decided to develop learning resources focused on General Relativity. Following an analysis of a selection of relativity textbooks on this topic, a study website for interested students as well as a teaching-learningsequence for teachers to adapt in their own teaching were developed. The development and assessment of these materials are described in detail. Cílem této dizertační práce je najít a zrealizovat možné způsoby podpory pochopení teorie relativityu žáků druhého stupně základní školy a středoškolských studentů.Na začátku práce je provedena rešerše současného stavu výzkumu a vývoje v oblasti vzdělávání teorie relativity na daných stupních škol, zejména v souvislosti s miskoncepcemi a dalšími překážkami učení. Dále jsou zmapovány studentům dostupné zdroje informací o relativitě v podobě knih a dalších internetových zdrojů a to jak v češtině, tak v angličtině. Následuje výzkum týkající se obsahu relativity v českých kurikulárních dokumentech a dotazníkový výzkum mezi českými gymnaziálními učiteli fyziky ohledně současného stavu výuky relativity na jejich školách. Na základě těchto výzkumů bylo učiněno rozhodnutí vytvořit učební materiály zaměřené na obecnou teorii relativity.Vnávaznostina analýzuvybraného počtu učebnica polo-populárních knih o relativitě byl vytvořen učební web pro zájemce o obecnou relativitu, a také několikahodinová učební sekvence, kterou mohou učitelé fyzikypoužít vesvých hodinách pro seznámení studentů se základními myšlenkami obecné relativity. Vývoj a ověření těchto materiálů jsou v práci detailně popsány.
