Tato bakalářská práce se skládá ze dvou částí. V první z nich je předložen překlad článku Janet Brennan Croftové, který vyšel roku 2002 pod názvem The Great War and Tolkien's Memory: An Examination of World War I Themes in "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings". Obsahem druhé části je odborný komentář, jenž zahrnuje analýzu výchozího textu, představení celkové koncepce překladu, překladatelských problémů, postupů a posunů.
