Práce se blíže zabývá babyboxy, jednou z možností pomoci matkám v nouzi. Teoretická část práce je věnována osobnosti matky, jež se dítěte vzdává. Dále právními normami, které upravují fungování schránek. Stručně také popisuje možnosti pomoci matkám v nouzi ze strany sociálních pracovníků, především se zaměřením na sociální dávky a možnosti dočasného ubytování. Práce také poukazuje na jiné možnosti pomoci matkám, které se ocitnou v nouzi. Praktická část porovnává názory odborné a laické veřejnosti na problematiku babyboxů, a to především na jejich zřízování na území Plzeňského kraje. The aim of the thesis is to expound the babyboxes like one of the opportunities of help to the mothers in an emergency. The theoretical part is dedicated to the mother`s personality giving her baby up. The following is concerned with the legal norms which adjust the function of the boxes. I briefly deal with the possibilities for help of the social workers to the mothers in an emergency. This is largely focused on the social benefits and the opportunities of temporary accommodation. This essay also refers to other possibilities of help to the mothers being caught in a crisis. The practical part comparet the protessional opinions with the public opinions about this issue - issue of the babyboxes with regard to their establishment in the region of Pilsen.
