Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá překladem předmluvy a vybraného úryvku z knihy The Valleys of the Assassins and Other Persian Travels od britsko-italské cestovatelky a spisovatelky Freyi Stark. První částí práce je překlad samotný, druhá pak sestává z komentáře, který osahuje překladatelskou analýzu originálu dle modelu Christiane Nordové, popis překladatelské metody a dílčích překladatelských problémů a posunů.
