Vladimír Fuka, Ph.D. Abstract: Airflow convection is simulated in four model cases using a Large Eddy Simulation (LES) model. The first case features flat heated surface which causes free convection into a neutrally- stratified atmosphere. The goal of simulating the first case is a comparison with reference Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS) data. The main aim is to compare the LES and DNS approaches to the numerical simulation of the problem. The second case consists of a stable convective boundary layer over a flat heated surface. The resulting simulation is a convective motion. The aim is to qualitatively judge the influence of the numerical grid density and the choice of the subgrid model on the convection. The third case is a convection over a flat heated surface which is divided into four equally large quadrants. Two of the quadrants have higher surface potential temperature flux and two have a lower one. The quadrants are arranged in a checkerboard manner. The aim is to observe differences between the simulations with different subgrid models and also to observe and identify trends and recurring airflow patterns caused by the surface... Vladimír Fuka, Ph.D. Abstrakt: Prúdenie vzduchu je simulované v štyroch modelových prípadoch s použitím Simulácie veľkých vírov (angl. Large Eddy Simulation - LES). Prvý prípad popisuje plochý rovnomerne ohrievaný povrch, čo spôsobuje voľnú konvekciu v neutrálne zvrstvenej atmosfére. Cieľom simulácie prvého prípadu je jeho porovnanie s referenčnými dátami z Priamej Numerickej Simulácie (angl. Direct Numerical Simulation - DNS). Cieľom je porovnať LES a DNS prístupy k numerickej simulácii problému. Druhý prípad pozostáva zo stabilnej konvektívnej medznej vrstvy nad ohrievaným povrchom. Výsledná simulácia predstavuje konvektívny pohyb. Cieľom v tomto prípade je kvalitatívne posúdiť vplyvy hustoty numerickej siete a voľby podsieťového modelu na konvekciu. Tretí prípad pozostáva z konvekcie nad ohrievaným povrchom, ktorý je rozčlenený do štyroch rovnako veľkých kvadrantov. Dva kvadranty majú vyššiu hodnotu povrchového toku potenciálnej teploty a dva ju majú nižšiu. Kvadranty sú rozložené do šachovnicového vzoru. Cieľom je pozorovať rozdiely medzi simuláciami používajúcimi rozdielne podsieťové modely a taktiež pozorovať a rozlíšiť trendy a vzory v poli rýchlosti vetra,...
