Svou práci jsme věnovali italskému spisovateli Michelu Priskovi (1920 - 2003). Na základě podrobné analýzy autorových románů a některých povídek jsme se pokusili zařadit jeho narativní tvorbu do kontextu italské literatury druhé poloviny 20. století. Spisovatel, novinář, literární a filmový kritik Michele Prisco vstoupil do literatury v roce 1949 povídkovým souborem La provincia addormentata (Ospalá provincie). Během přesně půl století dlouhé spisovatelské dráhy vydal 11 románů a řadu povídkových souborů. Do českého prostředí byl uveden překlady románů Gli eredi del vento (1950, č. Dědicové větru, J. Hajný 1983) a Una spirale di nebbia (1966, č. Cár mlhy, J. Hajný 1984). Priskova narativní tvorba působí jako celek kompaktním dojmem, ačkoliv prošla určitým vývojem v plánu tematickém a zejména kompozičním. Pozadí téměř všech Priskových povídek a románů tvoří jeho rodný kraj pod Vesuvem nebo město Neapol. Autorovi ale nejde jen o popis kraje a jeho obyvatel, ale o zachycení člověka v jeho celistvosti. Zajímají ho vztahy mezi lidmi, lidská identita , ale i odvrácené stránky lidské povahy, kořeny zla, touhy po pomstě a násilí. Některé romány, např Cár mlhy mají až detektivní nádech, podložený suspensem psychologického charakteru. Prisco je si vědom, že na konci pátrání nemůže být absolutní poznání, protože spolu... Michele Prisco's narrative writings in the context of the Italian literature of the second half of the twentieth century Our thesis was dedicated to the the Italian writer Michele Prisco (1920 - 2003). On the basis of the detailed analysis of some of author's novels and stories we tried to place his narrative literature into the context of Italian literature of the second half of the twentieth century. Michele Prisco, a writer, journalist, literary and film critic entered literature with a story collection. La provincia addormentata (Sleepy province) in 1949. During exactly fifty-year long writer's career he published eleven novels and a number of narrative collections. He was introduced to the Czech scene by translations of his novels Gli eredi del vento (1950, Czech translation - Dědicové větru, Heirs of the Wind, J. Hajný 1983) and Una spirale di nebbia (1966, Czech translation - Cár mlhy, A Spiral of Mist, J. Hajný 1984). Prisco's narrative literature gives a compact impression even though it came through a certain development in the thematic and above all compositional plan. The background of nearly all Prisco's stories and novels is his native land in the area of Vesuvius or Naples.
