Práce je teoretického charakteru a skládá se ze dvou hlavních kapitol. V první kapitole popisuji stárnutí a stáří. Vymezuji pojmy jako je gerontologie, geriatrie, píši o periodizaci stáří a o biologickém, psychickém a sociálním stáří. V druhé kapitole bakalářské práce píši o domech s pečovatelskou službou a o roli sociálního pracovníka, který provádí sociální šetření a pracuje se seniory, kteří se rozhodli pro podání si žádosti do domu s pečovatelskou službou. Podání každé žádosti provází návštěva sociálního pracovníka v místě bydliště žadatele a je veden důkladný rozhovor, který má napomoci rozhodnutí o přijetí do domu s pečovatelskou službou. The work deals with the process of ageing and the role of social worker in attending the requests for the home for seniors. The first part defines the term of ageing process, outlines periodization and describes biological ageing process, mental ageing process and social ageing process. The second part describes the home for seniors and shows the conditions of acceptance the applicant to the home for seniors. Then outlines the role of social worker, which figures in attending the requests for the home for seniors. The social worker visits the applicants in their homes, evaluates their situation and recommends or not emplacement of the applicant to the home for seniors.
