U pacientů s míšní lézí v oblasti krční a hrudní páteře jsou velmi časté respirační komplikace. Dochází k poruše inervace dechových svalů (dle výšky léze) a také k poruše obranných mechanismů k udržení hygieny dechových cest. Zaměřením práce je sledování vývoje plicních funkcí u těchto pacientů v dlouhodobém horizontu, k hodnocení dochází jeden rok od úrazu. Měření spirometrie, maximálních ústních tlaků, výdechové limitace a klidové funkce bránice se účastnilo 15 pacientů rozdělených podle výšky léze a dle ASIA skóre do 4 podskupin. Studie prokázala, vzájemnou souvislost FVC, FEV1, PEF s PI/PEmax v průběhu celého roku. Pacients after cervical and thoracical Spinal Cord Injury can have many respiratory complications. These complications lead to a disorder of the respiratory muscle's innervation (according to the height of the lesion) and also a failure of the defense mechanisms, that ma-intain the hygiene of the respiratory airways. The aim of this theses is to observe the develo-pment of the lung function in these patients. The evaluation of this study takes place one year after the injury. In the spirometry measurment, maximum mouth pressure, expiratory flow limitation and quiescent diaphragmatic function participated 15 pacients, who were divided, according to the ASIA scale, in 4 groups. This study showed interdependence between FVC, FEV1, PEF and PI/PEmax throughout the year.
