Holistická ošetřovatelská péče vyžaduje orientaci na tělo i psychiku. To znamená, že zdůrazňuje jak tělesné, tak psychosociální potřeby člověka. Je nutné, aby sestry chápaly podstatu psycho-sociální interakce a pečovaly o celého člověka, včetně jeho nejbližších ve zdraví i nemoci. Cílem diplomové práce "Holistický přístup při poskytování ošetřovatelské péče u zdravotně postižených dětí ve zdravotně sociálních zařízeních" bylo zjistit, jakým způsobem jsou uspokojovány potřeby u zdravotně postižených dětí ve zdravotně sociálních zařízeních z hlediska holistického přístupu. Práce zahrnovala kvalitativní i kvantitativní výzkum. Dotazník vyplnilo 104 sester a v kvantitativním výzkumu bylo pozorováno 10 respondentů. Byly stanoveny dvě hypotézy. První hypotéza byla zaměřena na děti se zdravotním postižením ve zdravotně sociálních zařízeních a na uspokojování potřeb z hlediska holistické teorie. Většina sester se domnívá, že poskytují holistickou ošetřovatelskou péči. Ale na druhé straně velká část sester odpověděla, že upřednostňuje zajištění fyziologických potřeb oproti psychosociálním potřebám. Toto zjištění nepotvrzuje plně holistický přístup při poskytování ošetřovatelské péče. Druhá hypotéza udává, že sestry více pečují holisticky v neziskových zařízeních než v zařízeních zřízených krajským úřadem. Nezisková zařízení nemohla být zařazena do výzkumu, neboť zde nejsou zaměstnané sestry a ty, které jsou zde zaměstnané, pracují na pozicích sociálních pracovníků a pečovatelů nikoli na pozici sester. Ke srovnání došlo pouze mezi zařízeními, kde zřizovateli jsou společnost s ručením omezeným a krajský úřad. Ve výzkumu byl též porovnán přístup k holistické ošetřovatelské péči mezi vrchními a staničními sestrami a sestrami, pracujícími ve směnném provozu. Sestry manažerky odpovídaly pozitivněji než sestry ve směnném provozu. Sestra, která poskytuje holistickou ošetřovatelskou péči, pohlíží na člověka jako na jedinečnou celostní bytost nikoli na její pouhé části. Taková sestra je odhodlána pomáhat lidem, aby dosáhli a udrželi si optimální zdraví, pomáhá při prevenci a redukci chorob nebo poskytuje podporu nevyléčitelně nemocným. Je důležité si uvědomit, že tělo a psychika jsou úzce propojeny nikoli odděleny. Tato diplomová práce může být využita pro sestry pracující u zdravotně postižených dětí ve zdravotně sociálních zařízeních. Výstupem diplomové práce pro praxi je vytvoření standardu pro holistickou ošetřovatelskou péči u zdravotně postižených dětí ve zdravotně sociálních zařízeních. Holistic nursing care requires body and psyche orientation. That means it stresses both, body and psychosocial human needs. It is necessary for nurses to understand the principle of psychosocial interaction and care of the whole person including his/her dearest in health and illness. The aim of the thesis ?Holistic approach in providing nursing care to handicapped children in health & social facilities? was to find out how the needs of handicapped children are satisfied in health & social facilities from the point of view of holistic approach. The work involved both, qualitative and quantitative research. 104 nurses filled in a questionnaire and 10 respondents were observed within the quantitative research. Two hypotheses were set. The first hypothesis was focused on handicapped children in health & social facilities and on satisfaction of their needs from the point of view of holistic theory. Most of the nurses are convinced that they are providing holistic care. However on the other hand a lot of nurses answered that they preferred provision of physiological needs to psychosocial needs. This finding does not fully confirm the holistic approach in providing nursing care. The second hypothesis says that nurses provide more holistic care in non-profit making facilities than in those operated by regional authorities. Non-profit making facilities could not be included in the research as nurses are not employed there and those who work there work at the positions of social workers and caregivers, not at the positions of nurses. Comparison was only performed at facilities operated by private limited companies and the regional authority. The research also compared the approach to holistic nursing care between head nurses and ward sisters and nurses working on shifts. The nurse managers answered more positively than the nurses working on shifts. A nurse providing holistic care sees a human as a unique complex being, not as its single parts. Such a nurse is ready to help people achieve and maintain optimal health, helps in prevention and reduction of diseases and provides support to those incurably ill. It is important to realize that body and psyche are closely linked, not separated. This thesis may be used by nurses working with handicapped children in health & social facilities. Elaboration of a standard for holistic nursing care for handicapped children in health & social facilities is the practical output of the thesis.
