V současnosti existuje několik nástrojů k predikci sekundární struktury proteinů, většina moderních metod používá algoritmy, jako jsou skryté Markovovy modely nebo umělé neurální sítě. Ve své práci se proto pokusím s nimi čtenáře seznámit a vysvětlit na jakém principu pracují, jaké jsou jejich výhody a nevýhody. Většina moderních metod predikuje tři typy sekundární struktury (helix, list a smyčku) s úspěšností 70%-80%. Nicméně vzhledem k odlišné metodice testování úspěšnosti různých metod lze brát výsledky pouze jako orientační, a uživatel by se proto měl s metodou a metodikou jejího testování nejprve detailně seznámit. Therefore I will introduce them to a reader in my thesis. I will explain their principles, as well as their advantages and disadvantages. The majority of contemporary predictors have accuracy 70%-80% for prediction of three types of protein secondary structure. However these results are only approximate, due to different testing methodology. Therefore the user should get familiar with the method and its testing methodology in detail at first.
