Tato práce představuje jedno z nejdelších a nejzajímavějších literárních děl na světě - bugiský epos I La Galigo. Samotné dílo není pozoruhodné pouze svou skladbou, ale především svým obsahem, který zahrnuje historii, mytologii, technické výklady, magické formule, lékařská pojednání, epickou poezii a vzorce správného chování. Dodnes nelze s jistotou datovat vznik tohoto eposu nejdříve předávaného ústně a později i v písemné formě. Víme však, že v životě bugiského lidu, který jej považoval za posvátný, hrál nesmírně důležitou roli. This work represents one of the longest and most important literary works in the world - the Bugis epic cycle I La Galigo. The actual work is not only notable for its composition, but also its content, which includes history, mythology, technical explications, magical formulas, medical treatises, epic poetry and patterns of conduct. To this day, creation of this epic first passed orally and later in writing cannot be dated with certainty. But we know that it was considered sacred and played an extremely important role in the life of Bugis.
