(abstrakt) Bakalářská práce se zabývá změnou, kterou v roce 2007 prodělal významný český zpravodajský týdeník Respekt. Časopis prošel od roku 1990, kdy vyšlo jeho první číslo, několika změnami, které utvářely jeho současnou podobu. Tato práce se však bude zabývat pouze výraznou proměnou, kterou prodělal v roce 2007. Tehdy přešel z novinového formátu na formát plnobarevného časopisu. Výrazně tak změnil svou grafickou podobu. Proměnil se ovšem rovněž obsah týdeníku. Přibyly nové rubriky, redaktoři začali zpracovávat nová témata, která se v periodiku dříve neobjevovala nebo byla přítomna v menší míře. Tato práce nejprve popisuje, jak vypadal časopis před změnou formátu v roce 2007, a to jak z vnější, grafické stránky, tak i z hlediska obsahu. Poté se podrobně zabývá změnou formátu. Zkoumá důvody, které k ní vedly, popisuje okolnosti, které ji provázely, včetně vyhrocené situace, kdy chtěla téměř celá redakce Respektu kvůli nesouhlasu s vedením podat výpověď. Zabývá se i ekonomickým dopadem přechodu periodika na časopisecký formát. Následně pak popisuje jeho novou podobu. V závěru práce hodnotí, jak se změnila podoba zpravodajství a publicistiky v časopise Respekt se změnou formátu, jaké prohry a vítězství změnu provázely. This thesis deals with the change, which in 2007 underwent a major Czech news weekly magazine Respekt. The magazine has undergone since 1990, when it published its first issue, several changes which have shaped its present form. This thesis, however, is going to deal only with dramatic changes magazine experienced in 2007. That time it transformed from newspaper format to full-color magazine format. It changed its graphics significantly. But it also changed the content of the magazine. New sections were added, the editors began to process the new topics that had not appeared in the journal before or had been present in a shorter extent. This paper first describes the magazine as it appeared before the format change in 2007 - the graphic format as well as the content. Then it describes the change of format detaily. It examines the reasons leading to it, describing the circumstances that surrounded it, including the escalation of the situation when almost the entire editorial staff would have liked to leave Respect because of the opposition leadership. It deals with the economic impact of the change. Subsequently, it describes a new form. The conclusion evaluates the shape of news and journalism in magazine Respekt after the change. It describes which defeats and victories it brought.
