cze Abstract:
Translations of foreign-language form a significant part of every national literature. In the 20th century a theoretician Jiří Levý created a well-developed and compact conception of Czech translation theory, which constitutes methodology of translation, its principles and possibilities. The object of this diploma thesis, with a title of ``The relationship of Jan Zábrana´s poetics to his translations of Sylvia Plath{\crqq}, is to find out to what measure the translation can change the original work; thereupon what way (if any) is the poetry and poetics of Jan Zábrana changed by the translation of Sylvia Plath. The selective Slovak translation of Mila Haugová was also considered. This diploma thesis also contains biographies and bibliographies of both, Jan Zábrana and Sylvia Plath. Citation: ČERVENÁ, Pavla.
