Ve své práci se zabývám komplexním zpracováním postavení vdov a sirotků jako ztělesněním slabosti a bezmoci z odkazu starozákonního pohledu. Předkládám jednotlivé biblické citace, ve kterých jsou vdovy nebo sirotci znázorněni jako sociálně slabší jedinci. V práci se zaměřují i na další sociálně slabší skupiny, mezi něž se řadí otroci, lévijci, bezdomovci a cizinci. Dále uvádím, jak byla z pohledu Starého zákona zaváděna a uplatňována jakási, v podstatě sociální, opatření v péči o člověka, který se ocitnul v tíživé situaci. Ukazuji, zda-li tradice péče o sociálně slabé jedince zůstala v židovské komunitě zachována i v následujících staletích a zda může být inspirací i pro dnešní dobu. In thesis I analyse citations from Bible in which widows and orphans are demonstrated as a underprivileged groups. In thesis I present as well others underprivileged groups: slaves, levijs, homelesses and foreigners. Next I show how was exercitation social rules in the care of human, which is in onerous situation, according to the Old Testament. Social move doesn't not only about preservation of life, but about welfare of life too. In thesis I present tradition in care of weakness human in Jewish Community, which are preserved for centuries.
