Cílem práce je porovnat období let 1980 - 1989 a 2000 - 2009 z hlediska intenzity a časování sňatečnosti. Převážná část práce se zabývá sňatečností svobodných. Hlavním zdrojem dat pro analýzu jsou jednovýchodné tabulky sňatečnosti svobodných. Analyzovány byly také věková struktura podle rodinného stavu, postoje české populace k instituci manželství a postavení České republiky v mezinárodním kontextu. Výsledky práce ukazují, že v 80. letech 20. století byly hodnoty ukazatelů intenzity i časování sňatečnosti stabilní. Lidé vstupovali do manželství často a v nízkém věku. Počátek 21. století bylo obdobím dynamickým. Během celého prvního desetiletí docházelo ke snižování intenzity sňatečnosti a zvyšování věku vstupu do prvního manželství. The intention of this study is to compare nuptiality intensity and time distribution during the years 1980 - 1989 and 2000 - 2009. Major part of this study concerns with the nuptiality of unmarried people thus the main source of data for the analysis are nuptiality life tables of unmarried. This study contains also analysis of population structure according to age and marital status, opinion of the Czech population to the institution of marriage and rank of the Czech Republic in the international context. Results of the study shows that in the 80s of the 20th century indicatior of the nuptiality intensity and indicator of the nuptiality conjugation were stable. At that time people got married often and in lower age. The beginning of the 21st century was a dynamic period. During the whole first decade the intensity of nuptiality was decreasing while the age of the first marriage was increasing.
