Architektonický vývoj v Československu ve 20. letech 20. století byl velmi komplikovaný. Setkává se zde mnoho různých směrů, ale nakonec se většina architektů přiklání k funkcionalismu. Obrací se přitom na jeho zakladatele, Švýcara Le Corbusiera. Ten se překvapivě inspiroval mnohými architektonickými zásadami antického Řecka a Říma. V jeho duchu pokračují i naši tvůrci a zabývají se aplikací starých forem do nové doby s použitím zcela nových materiálů. Architectural progress in the 20's of the 20th century in Czechoslovakia was very complicated. Lot of tendencies came together at once, but finally majority of architects decided to prefer functionalism. They appealed to his founder, Swiss architect Le Corbusier. He inspired his work by many architectural fundamentals of antique Greece and Rome. Czechoslovak architects followed his thoughts and tried to use ancient modalities in combination with brand new materials.
