Tato práce se zabývá vývojem literatury jižního Vietnamu v letech 1954-1975. Bere v potaz historický kontext, v němž autoři žili a tvořili. Důraz je kladen na celkovou společensko-historickou situaci v jižním Vietnamu, se zaměřením na faktory přímo ovlivňující literární tvorbu, například míru svobody projevu či povahu a proměny publika. Následuje přehled literárních proudů a podrobnější seznámení s nejvýraznějšími autory. This thesis examines the development of literature in South Vietnam during the years 1954-1975, taking into consideration historical context in which the authors lived and created. Emphasis is given to the general socio-historical situation of South Vietnam, focusing on the factors that directly influenced production of literature, as the degree of artistic freedom or the nature and changes of readership. Follows an overview of literary movements, some of their most representative authors being introduced in greated detail.
