Diplomová práce přibližuje urbanistický vývoj města Strakonice v minulém - 20. století. Práce vznikla na základě písemných a ikonografických pramenů uložených ve Státním okresním archivu ve Strakonicích a v Muzeu středního Pootaví Strakonice. V úvodní kapitole je nastíněn vývoj a proměny zástavby kolem soutoku řek Otavy a Volyňky od prvních zmínek po konec 19. století. Z původních osad kolem hradu, který založil rod Bavorů, se během středověku vytvořilo město. Ves Bezděkov byla roku 1869 povýšena na město Nové Strakonice a od roku 1919 se staly součástí Strakonic. Druhá a hlavní část práce se již zabývá změnami v první polovině 20. století. Pro celkový rozvoj města je důležité období mezi léty 1918-1938, zástavba expanduje za hranice bývalých městských hradeb, zakládají a rozvíjí se průmyslové podniky. Další kapitola pokračuje přiblížením stavebního vývoje v letech 1948-1989. Mnohé demolice a nová výstavba, to vše změnilo Strakonice k nepoznání. Závěrečná část se proto věnuje památkám, které přežily 20. století. Osudy těchto staveb, i těch již neexistujících, jsou provázané s místním obyvatelstvem, proto se práce zmiňuje i o společenském a kulturním životě ve městě. Diplomová práce přibližuje toto období neustálých změn a zvratů a snaží se tak přispět k doplnění historie města Strakonice. The thesis brings the urban development of the town of Strakonice during the last {--} 20th century. The work is based on the written and the iconographic materials stored in the State District Archives Strakonice and in the Museum of the Middle Pootaví Strakonice. The first chapter outlines the development and the transformations of the built-up area around the junction of rivers Otava and Volyňka from the first mentions to the end of the 19th century. The original settlements around the castle, which was founded by the family of Bavor, evolved into the town during the Middle Ages. The village of Bezděkov was promoted to the town of Nové Strakonice in 1869 and this has become a part of the city of Strakonice since 1919. The second part of the work is the main part and it deals with the transformations in the first half of the 20th century. The period between 1918 and 1938 is important for the overall development of the town. The built expands beyond the former city walls the industrial enterprises establish and develop. The next chapter follows the approach of building development in the years 1948 - 1989. Many demolition and new construction, all this changed Strakonice unrecognizable. The final section is devoted to the monuments which survived the 20th century. Fate of these buildings, even those already non-existent are interconnected with the local population, therefore, the work also refers to the social and cultural life in the town. The thesis brings this period of constant changes and twists and seeks to contribute to complement the history of the town of Strakonice.
