Předkládaná práce se ve své teoretické části zabývá analýzou reflexe historické skutečnosti s akcentem na historické vědomí, resp. regionální historické vědomí a faktory, které ovlivňují kontinuitu jeho uchování. V návaznosti na toto východisko je dále diskutována otázka možných hledisek vymezení a studia regionu a následně také konkretizace těchto hledisek na příkladu karlovarského regionu. Analýza regionálního momentu dějin a jeho podílu na formování samotného historického vědomí a regionální identity pak tuto teoretickou část uzavírá. Nedílnou součástí teoretických východisek je diskutovaný edukační rozměr dílčích teoretických hledisek a jeho význam pro veřejný prostor jako takový. Analytická část této studie nejprve sumarizuje výsledky dvou rámcových šetření regionální identity vybrané části obyvatelstva karlovarského regionu, resp. jeho samotného centra Karlových Varů a jejich nejbližšího okolí. Aplikaci teoretických východisek a výsledků rámcových šetření pak představují vybrané exkurzy z regionálních dějin, zabývajících se soužitím německého, českého a židovského etnika v 19. - 20. století na Karlovarsku. Samotné exkurzy jsou pokusem o konkretizaci možného edukačního využití regionální problematiky ve veřejném prostoru, a to s poukazem na proměnu sociokulturních vztahů těchto jednotlivých... This thesis in its theoretical part deals with the analysis of the reflection on the historical facts with an emphasis on historical consciousness or more precisely regional historical consciousness and the factors that affect the continuity of its preservation. In response to this starting point the question of the possible aspects of the definition and study of the region and consequently the specification of the following aspects of Karlovy Vary region as an example is further discussed. Analysis of regional moment of history and its share in the formation of the historical consciousness itself and regional identity concludes this theoretical portion afterwards. An integral part of the theoretical background is the discussed educational dimension of the partial theoretical aspects and its significance for public area as a whole. First, the analytical part of this study summarizes the results of two surveys within the framework of regional identity of the selected parts of the population of Karlovy Vary region or more precisely the very centre of Karlovy Vary and its immediate surroundings.
