Diplomová práce se zabývá konceptem "nové ženy" za první Československé republiky (1918-1938). "Nová žena" je chápána jako diskurzivní konstrukt nabývající rozličných významů. V práci odhaluji šíři těchto významů a identifikuji obrazy "nové ženy", které ukáží, co se pod tímto konceptem vše skrývalo. Cílem této práce je nalézt odpověď na otázku, jakých obsahů nabýval koncept nové ženy v dané době. V práci využívám dobový materiál (knihy, periodika) a analyzuji je prostřednictvím kritické diskurzivní analýzy. Téma "nové ženy" také zasazuji do potřebného kontextu, který se zaměřuje na právní a společenské postavení žen za první Československé republiky a věnuji se také vzniku konceptu a jeho zpracování západními zahraničními autory/kami. Klíčová slova: "nová žena", historie, první Československá republika, diskurz, kritická diskurzivní analýza The diploma thesis is focused on the concept of the "New Woman" in the first Czechoslovak Republic (1918-1938). The "New Woman" is understood as a discursive construct acquiring various meanings. In this work, I reveal wide range of these meanings and identify images of the "New Woman", which indicate what was hidden under this concept. The aim of the thesis is to find an answer to the question of what contents the concept was acquiring at a given time. To achieve this goal, I use critical discourse analysis to analyze materials (books, periodicals) from the era of the first Czechoslovak Republic. I also place the topic of the "New Woman" in the necessary context, which focuses on the legal and social status of women in the first Czechoslovak Republic and the origin of the concept and its elaboration by western authors.
