[cze][eng] Tato práce pojednává o vývoji tělocvičné jednoty Sokol v Berouně od jejího vzniku v roce 1865 až do konce první světové války roku 1918. Podstatou práce se stalo studium a analýza dostupných pramenů, odborné literatury a dobových periodik. Pozornost je věnována vnitřnímu životu spolku i jeho veřejnému působení v rámci města i širšího kraje. Ukazuje jednotu v jejím každodenním provozu i při výjimečných okamžicích její historie. Nastiňuje také problémy, se kterými se musela vypořádat. Zároveň představuje některé z osobností berounského Sokola. Substance of this thesis became the study and analysis of available sources, professional literature and periodicals at that time. Attention is paid to the inner life of the association and its public activity within the town and wider region. It shows the associations everyday functioning and even the unique moments of its history. It outlines the problems that the association had to overcome. And simultaneously it pictures some of the members of Sokol Beroun.
