Problematika konzumace cukru, slazených potravin a nápojů, zdravotních rizik z ní plynoucích a též změny životního stylu je v současné populaci velmi aktuální, přičemž negativní důsledky pozorujeme již v dětském věku. Cílem diplomové práce bylo studium konzumace cukru a potravin obsahujících cukr u dětí navštěvujících mateřskou školu a 1. stupeň základní školy. Teoretická část byla zaměřena na přehled poznatků týkajících se cukrů, jak přirozeně se vyskytujících, tak i přidaných, a zdravotních rizik souvisejících s častou konzumací potravin obsahujících přidané cukry. V praktické části byla sledována konzumace těchto potravin co do množství a různých forem a její vliv na rozvoj dětské obezity a dalších metabolických onemocnění. Zároveň byly zjišťovány i další aspekty životního stylu dětí, které by obezitu dětí mohly determinovat. Základem praktické části bylo dotazníkového šetření, ve kterém byly s použitím dotazníků zjišťovány stravovací návyky dětí. Výzkum ukázal vztah BMI dětí nad 75. percentilem s častější konzumací sladkostí a menší frekvencí aktivní i přirozené sportovní aktivity. Cukr a sladkosti konzumuje více než 3x týdně téměř 84 % dětí s jejich častější konzumací u dětí mateřské školy než u dětí základní školy. Volný přístup k sladkostem má 3,5 % dětí MŠ a 22,5 % dětí ZŠ. Consumption of sugar, sugar-containing food and drinks, related health risks and change of life style in our population are currently addressed issues with negative consequences already observed in childhood. The aim of the diploma thesis was to study the consumption of sugar and foods containing sugar in children attending kindergarten and 1st grade of elementary school. The theoretical part was focused on an overview of knowledge about sugars, both naturally occurring and added, and health risks associated with frequent consumption of foods containing added sugars. In the practical part, the consumption of these foods in terms of quantity and various forms and its influence on the development of childhood obesity and other metabolic diseases was monitored. At the same time, other aspects of children's lifestyle that could determine children's obesity were identified. The basis of the practical part was a questionnaire survey using questions determining eating habits of children. The research showed a relationship between the BMI of children above the 75th percentile and more frequent sweets consumption and less frequent active (sports) and natural physical activities.
