Abstract: The paper is focused on comparing the effects of a winding made of the solid wire andthe Litz wire to the copper losses in a 3kW 180 000 RPM high-speed permanent magnet synchronousmotor. It shows the influence of skin and proximity effects on a current density and copper losses inthe wires. The paper uses data from results of FEM simulations.
