Abstract: The Home Assistant software is a great open-source way of building an automatizedsmart home solution. It allows to connect smart devices of different manufacturers using the Zigbeeprotocol. Home Assistant can be installed on a Raspberry Pi which makes it a cheap solution. Itprovides a comfortable user interface and plenty of add-ons, which further extend its capabilities.
