Abstract: Reactions of great tits (Parus major) to aposematic insect prey were studied in the laboratory tests. Several modifications of colour signal of the red firebug (Pyrrhocoris apterus) were used to test the importance of colour and pattern in the firebug{\crq}s warning signal.
