Abstract: This paper discusses wireless transfer of physical quantities using the LoRaWAN network. Specifically, it acquaints readers with the problematics of long-distance carbon dioxide measurement and data transfer through the LoRaWAN network. The main goal is to describe particular components of a LoRa system that provides such transmission. This system is comprised of a carbon dioxide sensor attached to a LoRa module which sends its data to a LoRa gateway every two minutes. The gateway then resends the gathered information to a LoRa server where it is converted into a JSON format and sent to an API client. Afterwards, the data is uploaded into a database and it is put into context with preceding measurements utilising a graph. The system then compares the latest measurement with the set carbon dioxide concentration limit and displays the result using an array of red/green LED diodes, depending on whether the limit was exceeded or not.
