Ve sportu, stejně jako v širší společnosti, se muži a ženy setkávají s odlišnými očekáváními, která se pojí s jejich genderovými rolemi. Toto platí také v pole dance komunitě, které v drtivé většině dominují ženy a obecně je tento sport chápán jako ženský. V posledních letech se však stává čím dál populárnější právě mezi muži. Díky tomu se zakořeněné stereotypy s přítomností mužů v pole dance, a o tomto sportu, mohou proměňovat. Nicméně, jaký je vztah mezi genderem a sebe-prezentací tanečníků a tanečnic, a do jaké míry se oni sami podílejí na posilování, reprodukování a nabourávání genderových stereotypů uvnitř této komunity? Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá děláním genderu právě v pole dance a klade si za cíl zodpovědět na tyto otázky. Práce čerpá z teorie Westa a Zimmermana, kteří popisují vliv genderových očekávání na chování jedince, a tedy i následné dělání genderu. Pro detailní porozumění tohoto jevu byla data sesbírána pomocí kvalitativních polo- strukturovaných rozhovorů. Ty byly realizovány se šesti komunikačními partnery a čtyřmi partnerkami, kteří se aktivně participují v pole dance a mají několikaleté zkušenosti s vystupováním. Pro vyhodnocení těchto... In sport, as in society, men and women face different expectations related to their gender roles. This also applies to pole dance, which is a sport dominated by women and is generally perceived as feminine. In recent years, however, it has become more and more popular among men. As a result, ingrained stereotypes about the presence of men in pole dance, and about the sport itself, are possible to change. Nevertheless, what is the relationship between gender and the self-presentation of dancers, and to what extent are they themselves involved in reinforcing, reproducing, and breaking down gender stereotypes within this community? This bachelor thesis observes doing gender in pole dance and aims to answer these questions. The work draws on the the theory of West and Zimmerman, who describe an impact of gender expectations on individual behavior and thus the process of doing gender. For a detailed understanding of this phenomenon, data were collected through qualitative semi- structured interviews. Those were realized with six male communication partners and four female partners, who actively participate in pole dance and have several years of experience performing.
