Abstract: Effects of whole body and local cold water immersion on salivary cortisol content was exmined. Cortisol content in saliva began to increase 15 min after cold water immersion and declined immediately after the end of cooling. Whole body immersion increased cortisol content by 135 %, while immersion of legs increased cortisol content by 80 %.
