Modernizace Volyně, Dominantní trendy ve vývoji hospodářství, společnosti a politiky ve Volyni mezi léty 1848 a 1938 Text se snaží sledovat dlouhodobou tendenci vytváření moderní společnosti v malém městě Volyni. Rozdělen je do částí, které sledují modernizační vývoj jednotlivých společenských sektorů. První kapitola popisuje zlepšování dopravních podmínek, zmasovění dopravy a příchod nových komunikačních technologií. Druhá kapitola hledající modernizační trendy v hospodářství se zaměřuje na změny spojené s nástupem liberální ekonomiky a průmyslové revoluce. Zde je cíleno hlavně na racionalizaci zemědělské výroby, přesun výrobních sil do jiných sektorů a jejich koncentraci v průmyslových podnicích. Část týkající se demografického vývoje ukazuje na hlavní změny ve velikosti populace, přirozeném přírůstku a migraci obyvatel a ve změně jejich věkové skladby. V oblasti školství je sledován ústup vlivu církevních institucí, proměna ideologické výuky a budování nových škol praktického zaměření. Pátá kapitola se zabývá posunem ve vnímání širokých i místních identit a vysvětluje způsob i okolnosti přijetí českého sekulárního nacionalismu. Práce je uzavřena rozborem politického života, jeho vývojem od revolučního roku 1848 až po vznik rozštěpeného stranického spektra a etablování masových politických stran. Cílem... Modernization of Volyně, Dominant developmental trends of economy, society and politics between years 1848 and 1938 This text following the proposition of modernization theory tries to regard long-lasting evolution of making modern society in the small town Volyně. It is divided into parts searching for a modern tendencies in terms of various segments of social, economic, cultural and political life. First of all there is pointed at making progress to road-traffic infrastructure, uprising mass-transportation and post, telegraph and phone services. The second part is looking for the meaningful changes connected with the liberal economy and the industrial revolution, concretely redeployment agricultural sector and translocation the manpower into trade sector and industry, then concentration of manufacturing and downfall of the small workshop production. The third part inquires the quantity and quality of the town's population, the main demographic changes came by the removal of diseases caused by insufficient personal hygiene and municipal sanitation and on the other hand by the birth of the new demographic regime and transformation of population pattern.
