cze Abstract:
Poté následuje seznam čestných členů spolku.(in English): This bachelor thesis is focused on the topic of The Association of Czech Academic Jews. This Czech-Jewish association was established as an academic organization to ease the assimilation of the Jewish population into the Czech nation, which remained as the main purpose throughout its existence. The first chapter deals with the history of Jews in the Czech lands from the time of Maria Theresa to the end of the 19th century, including a description of anti-Semitism and the newly emerging Jewish direction of Zionism at the end of the 19th century. The second chapter describes the rules and laws which the associations had to follow in the Habsburg Monarchy. The third chapter concerns The Association of Czech Academic Jews itself. The presentation of its origin is followed by the description of the association's history until the end of the 19th century. The next part deals with the beginning of the 20th century and the situation during the First World War. This is followed by the list of honorary members of the association.
