Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce je popsat postavení a života žen nejdříve obecněji ve středověku a poté především v pozdně středověkém městě, převážně v Brně. Případně může být v některých částech malý přesah do raného novověku. Základním pramenem je Právní kniha města Brna, především její třísvazková edice vydaná v letech 1990-1993. Nejprve je popsán pramen, včetně svého vzniku, a jeho edice. Poté následuje teorie o ženách a jejich životě a následující částí jsou již příklady z Právní knihy, které se týkají žen. Na začátku se práce věnuje právu obecně, zákonům, ustanovením a možnostem žen, pak následují konkrétní případy, ve kterých vystupovaly ženy v různých pozicích. Práce se snaží zjistit, jaká práva a pravomoci měly v pozdně středověkém městě ženy - jestli mohly u soudu jednat samy v různých pozicích, či jestli měly poručníka, nebo za ně jednali jejich manželé, jak se se s ženou u soudu zacházelo, jejich vystupování před městskými institucemi, jak se na ně vztahovalo dědické právo, dispozice s majetkem, ženské testamenty, práva k dětem, vztah k dětem (jestli správu majetku dětí vykonávala žena, nebo poručník/advokát), postavení ovdovělé ženy, kvalifikace na vedení hospodářství nebo manželovy živnosti, jak se účastnily majetkových směn, věno, jestli mohla žena přísahat, jak se jednalo o... The main purpose of this bachelor's thesis is to describe the position and life of women first more generally in the Middle Ages and then especially in the late Medieval city, mainly in Brno. Alternatively, there might be a little overlap in some parts into the early modern period. The basic source is the Legal Book of the City of Brno, especially its three-volume edition published in 1990-1993. First of all is described the source including its origin and its edition, afterwards theory of women and her life ensues and following parts are already the examples from the Legal Book which concern women. At the beginning the thesis deals with laws, regulations and opportunities for women, then the specific cases follow, in which women appeared in various positions. The work tries to find out which rights and powers in the late medieval city women had - whether they could act in different positions in court, or whether they had a guardian or their spouses acted for them. How the woman was treated in court, their appearance before municipal institutions, how the right of heritage applied to them, disposition of property, women's wills, rights to children, relationship to children (whether the administration of children's property was performed by a woman or guardian/lawyer), the status of widowed woman,...
