Cílem práce je přiblížit křesťanské pojetí smrti na základě biblických textů. Úvodní kapitola se krátce věnuje některým pasážím Starého zákona, které s tímto tématem souvisí. Část věnovaná Novému zákonu se soustředí na texty spojené s vykupitelským posláním Ježíše Krista, od kterého se křesťanská naděje odvíjí. Exegeze 15. kapitoly Prvního listu Korinťanům se detailněji věnuje Pavlově obhajobě vzkříšení z mrtvých vzhledem k pochybnostem, které se v této církevní obci vyskytly. Poslední část práce se pokouší o současnou reflexi křesťanské víry tváří v tvář smrti na základě osobní zkušenosti. V této části je také zdůrazněna nezastupitelná role církve, kde se víra rodí, posiluje, sdílí a předává ve společenství vzájemné lásky, které má transcendentní rozměr. The aim of the work is to expound the Christian concept of death based on biblical texts. The opening chapter briefly deals with some passages of the Old Testament related to the subject. The section devoted to the New Testament focuses on the texts associated with the redemptive mission of Jesus Christ, from which Christian hope derives. The Exegesis of the 15th chapter of the First Epistle to the Corinthians provides more details of Paul's defence of the resurrection from the dead with regard to the doubts that have occured in this church community. The last part of the work tries to reflect on Christian faith face to face with death based on personal experience. This section also emphasizes the irreplaceable role of the Church, where faith is born, strengthened, shared and passed on in the community of mutual love that has the transcendent dimension.
