Vizuální hodnocení dřevin je v dnešní době nejběžnější metodou hodnocení dřevin a určení úrovně vitality stromu je její nedílnou součástí. Tato práce je zaměřená na objasnění procesu stárnutí a vymezení pojmů vitalita a senescence. Záměrem je rovněž aplikace dostupných metod hodnocení vitality na stromy v senescentním ontogenetickém stádiu, nalezení silných a slabých stránek těchto postupů a navržení postupu nového, který je vhodný pro aplikaci na senescentní stromy. Na vhodných vzornících je tato nová metoda ověřena a porovnána s výsledky běžných způsobů hodnocení vitality dřevin. Visual assessment is nowadays the most common method of evaluation of species and determination the level of vitality of the tree is its integral part. This work is aimed at clarifying the aging process and terms of vitality and senescence. It is also intended application of available methods of evaluating the vitality of the trees in the senescent ontogenetic stage, finding the strengths and weaknesses of these procedures and propose a new method which is suitable for application to senes-cent trees. Suitable swatches on this new method is verified and compared with results of conventional methods of evaluation vitality of trees.
